Still in School
Interns are an integral part of AstraZeneca. They touch every area of our business. Whether you’re a high school, college, graduate or post-graduate student, there is real work for you to do at AstraZeneca. As an intern, you could work in our headquarters in Wilmington, DE, our Newark, DE or Westborough, MA manufacturing plants, our R&D Centers of Excellence in Waltham, MA (which focuses on oncology and infectious diseases) and Wilmington, DE (which focuses on the Central Nervous System and pain), or our mid-Atlantic business center. While there’s internship work for almost every academic focus, we specifically look for any of the sciences – especially chemistry, biology and the life sciences (R&D), any business background (Marketing, Brand Management, Analytics, PR, Communications, Human Resources, etc.), engineering (Operations), accounting, finance, and pharmaceutical.
Interns at AstraZeneca are involved in real and meaningful projects. We don’t create padded programs for interns; they’re a real and vital part of our organization. As an intern, your work will be applied to real business decisions. It’s the most valuable kind of learning experience you can receive – you’ll be a part of our business. Summer internships are structured, paid, 12-week programs. You’ll report to the department you’re assigned to, doing work on real projects and participating in developmental opportunities such as:
- Resume building workshops
- Interview coaching
- Leadership speaker series/Career snapshots
- Observing sales training
- Career path seminars
- Departmental Special Projects and Presentations
You’ll also have opportunities to be part of the AstraZeneca community, such as a membership to our online training at AZU, participating with other employees in community service events, and attending social events for all interns to build networks and friendships.
If you’re interested in an internship with AstraZeneca, go to www.AstraZenecaCareers.com and create a profile. Once you’ve done that, you can search all available internships by typing “intern” into the keyword search field. From there you can apply for open intern positions you’re interested in.
